Astro Panda Studios is a small-shop software development and cloud services management firm founded in 2017 and based in Shawnee, Oklahoma. We build software solutions for clients ranging from nation-wide manufacturers to online education providers, and are currently developing a wider client base for managed cloud services. We take our software very seriously, but not ourselves!
Our office is located in Shawnee’s vibrant historic downtown. We are a fully hybrid team, with flexibility around scheduling for all employees. We not only create great software, but also have an eye to develop the next generation of great developers through our internship & apprenticeship programs.

Application Developer
Position Summary
As an Application Developer at Astro Panda, you’ll work collaboratively to help clients overcome their specific organizational challenges by building modern software solutions that are performant, maintainable, and delightful to use. At Astro Panda, you will have a voice in how we approach a problem and design its solution. We believe good software development requires an ongoing conversation between our team members and client stakeholders.
A developer will love this job if they delight in the challenge of taking the complex innerworkings of a business and creating the infrastructure necessary to make those processes easier to understand, use, and monitor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Collaboratively design solutions that meet project goals according to technical design and development best practices

Practice the Scrum Methodology for organizing development projects

Develop applications in a variety of languages and frameworks, primarily .NET and JavaScript for cloud and on-premises deployment

Contribute user stories to assigned projects’ backlogs

Advocate for excellent user experience in balance with the demonstrated business needs and goals

Test your code for quality and write automated tests to support code quality
-
Create documentation that supports the software you are writing

Participate in code reviews
-
Maintain a strong security posture in your code and the real world
-
Support customers in using the solutions we develop for them when problems arise

Stay up to date on emerging technologies

Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
-
1-2 years' experience in computer programming, preferably .NET
-
Propensity to synthesize disparate sources of information into a cohesive foundation of knowledge

Proficiency to communicate in English in oral and written format
Preferred Experience

Proficiency with source control, preferably git

Experience with open-source projects

Experience deploying applications to Azure
Job Detail, Compensation & Benefits

Full time, hybrid position

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and ability
