The Shawnee Y came to us with an outdated WordPress site that was difficult for staff to keep updated, performing poorly in SEO, and not usable on mobile devices. We were able to assess the information their members asked for and searched for the most, including what they had resorted to just distributing via paper flyers, and developed a website centered around ensuring that users can find what they are looking for quickly.

We heavily utilized features like tabs and accordions to make a lot of information available in less space, as analysis determined that the majority of users hit the site already knowing what they're looking for.  We also implemented Wix Events app to allow them to highlight registration periods for events, as well as Wix Blog app for publishing news and resources!

Pogo's website is a hub for information and engagement. For a complete implementation, we crafted custom integrations with HubSpot and Airtable for their workflows to streamline Pogo staff engagement with over 50 community partners and their constituents. The site features wide usage of Wix Events and Blog apps, including a unique implementation that utilizes the Event tools to assist with volunteer management.

This website project sought to modernize the brand and simplify navigation while bringing it front and center to encourage exploration. The implementation also utilizes a custom destination management solution that is easy for staff to maintain in-house.

Collaborating with members of Shawnee’s blossoming local software development industry, we were able to successfully architect a flexible, innovative website and data management solution based in modern low-code technologies. The solution is affordable and able to be maintained with current staffing levels and skill sets, and it works on every kind of device.

The website is built primarily on Wix’s website engine, but destination data is hosted and maintained within a custom-built Airtable database and served to the website through Airbasix, an open-source software project that we dreamed up and executed with the help of a local IT company, Cyber Blacksmith. AirBasix allows us to manage our destination data in an easy-to-manage, highly extensible interface and use APIs to keep the website consistently reflecting the newest information.
